Bicorn purtat în marina militară română încă din anul 1863, după modelul marinei militare franceze. În 1895 se stabilesc noile modele. Bicornul de faţă era purtat de ofiţeri (locotenenți) la ţinuta de mare ceremonie. În interior căptuşeala păstrează inscripţionările atelierului parizian în care erau comandate bicornurile.
