Regele Carol I apare portretizat în uniforma de general de infanterie, cu decorații. Exemplarul a aparținut Societății muzicale germane Liedertafel din București care era una dintre societățile culturale ale comunității germane din România. Artistul a realizat și alte portrete ale membrilor familiei regale, printre care și un portret de tinerețe al viitorului rege.
