Comptoir Lyon-Alemand, Louyot et Cie (CLAL) was a major French company specialized in the processing of precious metals. Today, the company is part of the Heimerle+Meule group, under the name Cookson-CLAL. It is one of the best smelters, refiners, and traders of precious metals worldwide. Société Veuve Lyon-Alemand & sons was established in 1834, based on a precious metals refinery operated by Mr. Lyon and Miss Alemand since 1800. In 1871, the company became Comptoir Lyon-Alemand (CLA). In 1957, CLA merged with Louyot, becoming Comptoir Lyon-Alemand, Louyot et Cie (CLAL). In 2000, CLAL joined the Cookson group, a global leader in the processing of precious metals. CLAL thus became Cookson-CLAL. In June 2013, Cookson-CLAL joined the Heimerle+Meule group, founded in 1845, based in Pforzheim. It is the oldest smelter and refiner of precious metals in Germany. Cookson-CLAL offers services for professionals and individuals wishing to recycle or transform precious metals into coins or investment bullions. With 200 years of experience, its processes are well established, and the quality of the refined products is exceptional. Their products are recognized on international markets, and weight and purity are guaranteed. In addition to gold and silver investment products, Cookson-CLAL is a landmark in the field of refining and recovering precious metals (gold, silver, platinum, palladium), in the production of top-quality finished metals.
