Nain is a city located 150 km east of Isfahan in central Iran. Compared to Iranian ancient weaving centres such as Kashan, Isfahan and Yazd, Nain is relatively new. Although they started to produce Isfahan rugs in the mid-1930s, Nain began developing its own unique style. The designs are very fine and precise. Fathollah Habibian (1903-1995) is regarded as the father of Nain rugs. Producing fine carpets with his brother Mohammed, Fathollah Habibian is responsible for the design and weaving of some of the world's finest Nains.
