The painter drawn to the most truthful representation of everyday facts, Constantin Piliuță, exercised in his work a wave of calm, enveloping the scene of the mundane, banal world. Opting for a straightforward language, Piliuță managed to address a wide audience, without discriminating among those uninitiated in the world of art. Thus, the painter uses a language that does not need to be decoded, using his talent without subterfuge on the canvas. Piliuță evolved in the universe of a realist art, without being concerned with the anxieties of the epoch. We discover in Piliuță a purism derived from a state of reverie, with flowers, dancers, music, and people with gentle faces. Constantin Piliuță dedicated an entire series of portraits during the '70s, the early '80s. The painter created a vast cycle of works with the portraits of his contemporaries, who visited his studio, as well as the people who inspired him over the years. Piliuță's people are serious, often thoughtful, surprisingly skillfully captured by the painter. Thus, from this series notable works such as "The Poet A. Macedonski", "The Painter Ștefan Luchian", "The Writer Marin Preda", "The Actor C. Rautschi" stand out. Local personalities or close friends with the artist, Piliuță's portraits impress with the naturalness with which they are composed. In this work, titled "Aurel Nedel", the painter captures his colleague in a moment of prolonged silence. Aurel Nedel has, in Piliuță's painting, a withdrawn air, lost in thought, as if he has forgotten his own cigarette. A painter of nudes, flowers, and still lifes, Aurel Nedel is an impressive figure in his simplicity. Lover of warm flowers, such as the sunflower and tulip, and welcoming still lifes, the painter remains to be remembered for his harmonious compositions, vaguely reminiscent of synthetic cubism. Thus, in his artistic evolution, Piliuță approached most of the genres of painting, following an internal logic. The portrait offered the painter ample opportunities for plastic experimentation. A creator with a deeply lyrical vision, Constantin Piliuță captures, against the backdrop of color meetings, the sensitivity of the people he met.
