oil on canvas, 137 x 122 cm, 137 × 122 cm, signed and dated upper left, with black, "Gheorghiu, (19)71"

A graduate of the "N. Grigorescu" Institute of Imitative Arts, where he studied with Professor Camil Ressu, the artist Ion Alin Gheorghiu distinguishes himself starting in the year 1957, as part of the most important art manifestations in the country and abroad. One of the particular qualities of his creation is colour, which will become a means of expression for his sensitivity and his artistic vision. His painting contains the defining form of the very layout of nature, indicating the significance of a return to the object, stripped from the real universe and deeply researched in its structure. The strenuous recollection from his last years of creation, on the "suspended gardens" follows the investigation of a subject made available by the nature whose evocative resources are ceaselessly measured. A rational designer of the image, the artist always disseminates new images, disclosing current hypostases of his subject, and the field of his painting expands ceaselessly, in-depth. (GM)
