Beginning after the First World War and extending until the end of 1977, the creation of the artist Ciucureanu is devoted to a luminous vision, alongside synthesis, analysis and construction. The line, an important element of his imitative language, intended to separate areas, acquires a strong emotional function along the way. With regard to the themes of his creation, a significant presence is the nude, approached by the artist in modernist manners. Raising issues which pertain to construction, as well as to light, the nude acquires vast imitative accents. Approached in a graceful spirit, veiled in plays of light and transparencies, the nude acquires new metamorphoses and marked simplifications in the process. We note these innovations in his creation starting in the 60s, when the artist explores a new redefining with regard to his creative vision, as well as his work manner. One of the significant innovations is the contraction of the colour scheme, reduced to only a few colours, which the artist will use to create an infinity of tones, semitones, valorisations, and shades. This way, colour significantly abates its shaping function, being reduced to a bidimensionalism suggested exclusively by the line. The spontaneity of the notation, the natural capturing of the movement and the construction of shape using colour will thus become the features specific to the painting belonging to this genre, as well as to the indoor scenes, which motifs are recurring in the final decades of creation.
