Ana Chiorean created the work inspired by John Pasche's design for "The Rolling Stones Lips", a tribute to the Hindi goddess, Kali, at the request of the band's lead singer Mick Jagger. The image, which has since become the symbol of rock'n'roll, is also intended as a protest: "It's the kind of thing like when kids stick their tongues out at you," Pasche said in a 1970s interview. The playful, but at the same time mature approach of the whole concept, led the artist to bring the idea closer to the geographical area of the Balkans, using specific feminine elements, voluptuous lips from which a phallus flows, symbol of fecundity and fertility of nature, represented by flowers. The work is a pamphlet on a licentious expression too often used in all circumstances, positive or negative. The artist intended the overall image to be as feminine and sensual as possible.
