The descendants of the famous German cartographer Johann Baptist Homann founded a namesake family company, particularly active for several generations between 1730 and 1848. The present piece, an astronomical map of the solar system, was printed in Nuremburg (Nuremberg) in 1753. Copper engraving manually colored after printing.
