The first piece in the volume represents a work of propaganda in favor of the Union of the Principalities in the favorable international context created by the Peace Congress in Paris in 1856. The second piece speaks about the speech delivered in the Legislative Assembly in Bucharest by Mihail Kogălniceanu referring to the need for the adoption of the agrarian reform. The connection is of the epoch.
