The writer Bucura Dumbravă (also known by her name Fanny Seculici or Szekulics, 1868-1926) was a German-origin writer established in Romania, discovered by Queen Elisabeta who supported her and with whom she collaborated. She is the first woman in Romania involved in mountain exploration, especially the Bucegi Mountains. The present novel is part of a historical trilogy that has Tudor Vladimirescu as its central character. The edition stands out with the preface written by Queen Elisabeta of Romania, the translation made by Elisa I. Brătianu, the wife of the president of the National Liberal Party Ion I.C. Brătianu, and the introduction to the Romanian edition by Bucura Dumbravă. On the reverse of the title page is preserved the autograph signature of the author written in black ink. The aftercare is the original one from the publisher.
