Miron Romanul (1828-1898) was an Orthodox cleric from Transylvania who held several dignities within the Romanian Orthodox Church, reaching the rank of archbishop and metropolitan. He supported the idea of Romanians' attachment to Budapest in the Austro-Hungarian Empire, which brought him into conflict with other Romanian Orthodox clerics, adherents and supporters of national resistance against the policy of forced Magyarization promoted by the governments in Budapest. The example is in a very good state of preservation. The covers are made of wooden boards covered in leather. The main faces and the spine are richly decorated with a border made of stylized plant elements. On the title page, at the top, you can see a stamped ex-libris of the metropolitan. The cut is gilded.
