Overleaf of the title is depicted St. John of Damascus, in the engraving by Mihail Strilbițchi, but scraping off his typographic mark and replacing it in some copies with a Greek inscription. There are copies of which the title is printed in black only. In these copies the sheets from 225 onwards are reprinted. The foreword is signed by "Sylvestru, Abbot of the Holy Monasteries of Neamț and Secu", and discusses the significance of the book.
