Jesus Christ is represented from the front, down to his waist, blessing with His right hand and holding the closed Gospel, encased in gold plated silver and adorned with pearls and precious stones, in his left hand, close to the chest. The background of the icon was initially made of gold, decorated with stylized vegetal motives: at present, lacunary fragments are kept, which can be barely seen under the ochre and red painting layer. The iconographic written type 'Pantocrator' can be hardly deciphered. We may say the same thing about its aura, as well, which was initially golden and decorated and which is covered by a light brown colour at present. Jesus Christ wears clothes according to the tradition: the chiton, which had initially been re-painted in the same colour as the background, over which a decoration executed with the wheel was applied. Over the initially blue himation, a brown colour was added and, subsequently, the same decoration was applied with the wheel. The face of Jesus, made graphically, has traits specific to the Maramureș painting, the traits of the face being marked by fine, thin lines, which we may find as well at the moustache and beard model. Alternatively, the hair on the head has been painted again, in black. The flat model of the face and hands is made according to the tradition of the Maramureș painting, with white, ochre and white , yellowish-white, while, for the shadows, the painter used light red. The over-heightened frame of the icon, painted in light brown, at present, was initially gold plated and decorated like the icon's background; under the colour layer small fragments of the old painting can still be seen.
