The David Praporgescu Society had been organised by retiring NCOs who had taken part in the campaigns of the Romanian Army during World War I. Established in 1921 and set under the patronage of the Minister of War, General Rășcanu, the Society proposes to cultivate the memory of heroes fallen in the battles for the Great Union. The diploma offers us a rich overview, with plenty of significant elements. From the figure of Greater Romania, symbolised by a woman wearing the folk costume, holding the kingdom's flag in one hand and a laurel crown in the other, to the battle scenes, everything converges to the aim of supporting a patriotic message. The face of General Praporgescu dominates the ensemble from a medallion in the upper right side of the diploma. The sketch of the diploma was designed by the artist Miteschy Kiselev, whose signature it bears.
