He studies in Cluj, with Romulus Ladea and Ion Irimescu, and at maturity, he becomes a teacher in the same Institute of Fine Arts. In his childhood, during the period 1926-1936, he will settle with his family in Mexico, where he comes into contact with the old Mexican art, especially with the work of Diego Rivera. He will choose marble and bronze as his preferred materials and will code, with specific skills, metaphors and symbols in his works. Marked by major events of the past century, Egon Marc Lowith will use his artistic means to evoke certain states and experiences in a cathartic process. He will be primarily concerned with the human figure, but also with anthropomorphic forms. He will dedicate a series of works to reputed native personalities and will work predominantly on broad planes, offering more or less subtle clues about his intentions. The artist will deliberately simplify anatomical details, through planes and volumes that will retain, in summary but suggestively, the memory of a face or an animal silhouette.
