Lawyer Wilhelm Filderman (1882-1963) was one of the prominent figures of the Jewish community in Romania during the interwar period. He fought in World War I for the realisation of Greater Romania and was twice decorated for his actions. He served several times as president of the Federation of Jewish communities in Romania and opposed the antisemitic legislation adopted by Ion Antonescu regime. In 1927 he was elected deputy on the electoral lists of the National Liberal Party. This piece represents a photograph of Filderman transformed into an advertising electoral material for the mentioned election campaign.
