On the obverse, a palm tree is depicted flanked by a legend in Hebrew, all surrounded by a pearl circle. On the reverse, a cluster of grapes on a vine are depicted, surrounded by a pearl circle. This type of coin represents an attempt by the Jewish people to break away from Roman power and for identity recognition. Many such coins were minted over Roman coins.
