Also known as the "Maradona of the Carpathians", Gheorghe Hagi is considered one of the best Romanian footballers of all time. On the dedicated page on the official website of FC Barcelona, the athlete benefits from a short biography, he played at the prestigious club for two years, between 1994 and 1996, scoring 11 goals throughout his performance at FC Barcelona. As an advanced playmaker, he was recognized for his dribbling, technique, vision, passes, and finishing. In the Romanian national team, he played three World Cups in 1990, 1994 (where he was named in the World Cup All-Star Team) and 1998, as well as in three European championships in 1984, 1996 and 2000.
