Andy Warhol is known for his declaration that everyone should be famous for fifteen minutes. Indeed, fame was what guided Warhol. He cultivated it with his cool, intriguing character and surrounded himself with famous people. In his creative field, fame took on the image of Hollywood celebrities, political personalities, chic fashion personalities, rock musicians, athletes, like the famous boxer Muhammad Ali. Thus, the work is part of a series dedicated to star athletes, including Dorothy Hamill and Pele, from the late '70s.
