In his landscapes, Alexandru Ciucurencu focuses on the construction of space and the rendering of the idea of compositional order in relation to the simplicity and beauty of nature. He thus manages to harmoniously combine vast natural frames with images of houses or industrial spaces. Claiming his title as a colorist in the history of native art, the artist will pay special attention to color which exceeds the prerogatives stipulated by the object, defining its own value without referring to the contour in which it resides. In his last period of creation, however, the color palette narrows down and only includes a few essential tones that the artist adds, as he has accustomed us, the necessary contrasts. We note here the architectural-industrial chaining where black and gray predominate, ingeniously superimposed over the fatal development that composes the celestial space. We also observe a few shades of pink, as well as shades of brown, recurrently placed in different areas of the composition.
