During his stay in Paris, while still a student at the Julian Art Academy, Constantin Artachino built a close friendship with the painter Stefan Luchian. Back in their native country, the two would establish several Romanian art societies, among them the "Salon of Independents" and "Ileana", aimed at promoting independent Romanian artists. For the establishment of the "Ileana" society, they enjoyed the support of Alexandru Bogdan-Pitesti, who provided the artists with his own house. Artachino would be a teacher at the Belle Arte Schools in Iasi and Bucharest. A methodical person, he skillfully combined all the activities that make up his professional journey. Harmony also characterizes his artistic creation and extends into the decorating of his workspace. In the salon where he creates, Western influences meet Eastern ones in a refined selection of decorative objects. The whole ethos of his existence could be decrypted through the key of rigor. He dedicated genuine floral portraits to the flowers he painted, focusing the viewer's attention on the central element through the use of contrasting colors, in which the background gradually fades. In his floral panels, he demonstrates his artistic abilities and his propensity for stylization and interpretation. Lilies, sunflowers, or roses created predominantly in a decorative manner are often found. In Artachino's work, the flower becomes a leitmotif, and whether he dedicates stand-alone canvases to the plant motif, or includes the flower as an adjunct and decorative element, its symbolism remains just as prominent.
