Dimitar Kazakov – Nero is one of the most significant Bulgarian artists of the second half of the 20th century. His work is distinguished by a vivid and highly recognizable style that spans painting, drawing, printmaking, ceramics, and wood sculpture. In his late creative period, the artist moved toward freer artistic explorations and experimentation. In 1988, he created a series of memorable watercolors, among which the double-sided work “Creation” stands out. The works from this period are highly valued for their expressiveness and artistic depth. Even during his lifetime, the work of Dimitar Kazakov – Nero attracted considerable interest both in Bulgaria and abroad. He remains one of the most original and instantly recognizable figures in Bulgarian visual art. (K.S.)
