Mircea Roman explores the sculptural field with a lucid talent. His sculpture is tenacious, capturing the timelessness of individual tensions, despite the hardness of the materials he works with. Thus, the "people from pieces", as the artist himself names the protagonists, become "body-boxes", defenseless in the urban space, observed in a permanent state of rest by the viewer. "Fallen Character", "Sacrificed Character", "Doll" are just a few of the sculptures that have their core in the composition of the human body from fragmented structures. Mircea Roman pays attention to each body, as if they were concrete individuals. In the present work, we can observe the predilection for body fragmentation as a visual mark of human degradation. His creation belongs to the figurative area and encourages the viewer to actively participate in the process of deciphering the artistic narrative.
