268. The Ninth Congress of the Communist Party of Romania, 1965, Participant's Badge

At the ninth Congress of the Romanian Communist Party, dictator Nicolae Ceaușescu was elected to the highest position in the party and state. Also, at that time the congress endorsed the new name of the party (from the Romanian Workers Party) and the new official denomination of the state, the Socialist Republic of Romania, from the People's Republic of Romania. The insignia was distributed to the congress participants.
