Eugeniu Speranţia was born in Bucharest in 1888, son of the folklorist Theodor Speranţia. He had a PhD in Letters and Philosophy. Ever since his youth, he participated in the literary movement of the time. He stood out after World War I as professor and ministry director, Cluj (1919-1921), professor at the Faculty of Law, Oradea (1921-1934), Law Philosophy and Sociology professor at the University of Cluj (1934-1949). He published numerous law philosophy, sociology and philosophy works. He was also a music critic for Steaua magazine, where he published a history of literary and university memories. He died in 1972.
