Vladislav I, also known as Vlaicu Vodă, was a remarkable ruler of Wallachia in the 15th century. His importance lies in the significant contributions made in strengthening the royal authority and in battling the external and internal threats of the time. He was an advocate of balanced politics between neighboring states, having a strategic approach in foreign relations to maintain the country's independence. Vlaicu Vodă carried out administrative and fiscal reforms to consolidate central power and promote the economic development of the principality. In addition, his role in the wars against the Ottoman Empire and the tactical alliances he managed to maintain the territorial integrity of Wallachia is remarkable. Thus, his contributions have had a lasting impact on the political and social structure of the principality in a period characterized by changes and turbulence in Central and Eastern Europe.
