The “Sacred Images” Auction will impress with a selection of extremely rare books, from the “First Octoich” in Church Slavonic, written by Hieromonk Makarije (1494), to the first edition of the “New Testament” in Romanian (Bălgrad, 1648), from the “Key of Understanding” by Metropolitan Varlaam, the first book printed in Bucharest (1678) to the “Gospel” of Șerban Cantacuzino (1682) and Anthim the Iberian (1697), as well as beautiful illuminated manuscripts or rare icons on glass or wood, some of them with silver overlay, from workshops in Wallachia and Moldavia (17th-19th centuries).
