The Jaguar XJ40 was manufactured between 1986 and 1994. It was equipped with more elements than the standard model XJ6. The Daimler variant also offered: mahogany tables for the passengers in the back, two individual seats in the back, rear window curtain matching the colour of the upholstery, wool carpets for passengers in the right and back seats, leather upholstery, electric and heated front seats, glass support and glasses in the back seats, autopilot, air conditioning, headlight washers, sunroof, a six-speaker sound system, self-levelling rear suspension (SLS), anti-lock braking system and central locking. In 1993 it received the award of "The safest car in Britain".
