Constantin Gănescu distinguished himself over time both in the role of the sculptor and as a painter. He will settle in France early on, so his debut will take place on international stages, at the National Salon of Fine Arts in Paris, with a sketch of a religious nature: "Church People". But the artist will also find his inspiration in literature, taking on subjects such as Don Quixote or Faust. His biblical themes reveal works such as "The Crucifixion of Jesus", "Judas", "The Scourging of Jesus" etc. Constantin Gănescu will be an active presence at the Parisian salons of the time, but will also exhibit at the Venice Biennale or in Bucharest. From Christian iconography to modern painting, the theme of Jesus' crucifixion has evolved and has been represented in accordance with the author's own artistic beliefs, but also under the influence of the moral values of the era. However, we find this subject not only in visual art but also in graphic novels, films, series or even music.
