Queen Elizabeth of Romania was captured by Franz Mandy, the court photographer, in her office at the Royal Palace. The large-scale picture, glued on the original paperboard, bears the queen’s handwritten signature on the photograph, in the lower right-hand corner. In the lower part of the paperboard, the queen wrote a beautiful dedication in black ink, which she dated and signed Carmen Sylva.
