After the disappearance of Balchik from the Romanian imaginary, namely after 1940, Mützner, like Iser, sought to return to the Orientalist effects, so handy in the olden days, by projecting Oriental specificities into daily urban spaces. Thus, in the case of the Mützner's paintings, we find an interesting consonance with Iser's set of odalisques painted between 1940 and 1945. These imagined "odalisques" thus become the answer to the void perceived in the case of a cycle devoted to exoticism in all its variants – therefore a much wider frame than this Balkan orientalism. Mützner's series of nudes is part of the wider cycle with female models, also joining the compositions with a model in the garden of the house.
