Stefan Constantinescu was the first husband, being at the time 15 years older, of actress Clody Berthola. Next to this mature and understandably jealous husband, the woman felt she could not fully realize her career. Her full affirmation in theatre came along with the tumultuous and shared passion for Liviu Ciulei. 'We used to take long walks along the Dâmbovița river', Clody remembered the early years of her love with Liviu Ciulei. This is the pier that Stefan Constantinescu paints, still full of hope. After four years, Clody Bertola and Liviu Ciulei get married and start their household under the same roof with Stefan Constantinescu. They both cherish him at least enough to spare him the pain. In time, where the actress thought she saw no path to fulfilment, the painter found it, building a successful career in mural painting.
