Each of us probably remembers the novel "Barefoot" by Zaharia Stancu, exploited to the fullest extent by the propaganda of the Communist regime and included in the textbooks of several generations. But Zaharia Stancu is not remembered only for this novel. As a leftist man as early as the inter-war period, Stancu naturally found his place in the post-1944 world, establishing himself as a successful journalist, poet and novelist.
