The beehive is a very old Masonic symbol, which is still used in many countries, but in England and Wales it was abandoned after the Union of 1813. However, it can be seen in some old pre-Union representations, for instance, it is displayed as a symbol on the 3rd Degree Tracking Board of the Cumberland Royal House no. 41 in Bath, but for all intents and purposes it was lost as a symbol in the Grand Lodge of England.
