Robert Freke Gould (10 November 1836 - 26 March 1915) was a soldier, prominent Freemason and Masonic historian. He wrote a "History of Freemasonry" (3 volumes), which remains a standard reference work on the subject. Along with Charles Warren, William Harry Rylands, The Reverend Adolphus Frederick Alexander Woodford, Walter Besant, John Paul Rylands, Major Sisson Cooper Pratt, William James Hughan and George William Speth he was one of the founders of Quatuor Coronati Lodge in 1886.
