During this period, Villa was an important part of one of the most dominant teams in the history of European football, scoring 48 goals in 119 official appearances. A defining moment was the 2011 UEFA Champions League final, against Manchester United, where Villa scored the decisive goal for the 3-1 victory, contributing to the winning of the trophy.
