Necula Răducanu, better known as Rică Răducanu and affectionately referred to by Giulești fans as "Nea Rică", is one of the players who represented Romania at the 1970 World Cup. It was then that Nea Rică became the first goalkeeper to be introduced from the substitute bench at a World Cup. This happened in the confrontation with Pele's Brazil, when the goalkeeper raised in Giulești was introduced by coach Angelo Niculescu in the 27th minute, in place of Stere Adamache. Rică Răducanu excellently defended the "tricolors'" goal during the clash in Guadalajara, however, he could not intervene for the second goal scored by Pele.
