In military attire, riding a white horse, the saint thrusts his spear into the mouth of the dragon crashed under the horse's hooves. In the background, the emperor's daughter fearfully witnesses the scene. Archangels Michael and Gabriel come flying with the crowns of martyrdom. The remote prototype of the composition is an Athonite engraving. (AD)
