The traditional image of Saint Haralambie is here complemented by a complex urban background, composed of architectural elements such as churches and palaces, all surrounded by a fortified enclosure, equipped with several gates - reminiscent of the structure of Transylvanian cities in the premodern era. On the road in front of the fortress, a group of characters is heading towards the saint, represented in an attitude of veneration, with their arms raised in a salutation gesture. In the opposite corner of the composition, a kneeling woman reiterates this gesture, contributing to the illustration of collective gratitude towards the thaumaturge saint, who is depicted dominating the allegorical figure of the plague, chained at his feet.
