29. Icon on glass, "Ascension to Heaven of Saint Prophet Elijah and scenes from his life", painted by Pavel Zamfir, Laz, 1886, very rare collector's item

In the upper register, on a background colored in ochre-yellow, the ascension to heaven of Saint Elijah is represented, being in a chariot pulled by two winged horses (the second horse is represented by simple juxtaposition). Saint Elijah, with a white beard and hair, holds a whip in his right hand, and in the left the golden reins of the horses. The spokes of the wheels are made in the form of stylized stars. Elijah appears in the lower left corner, inside a room, holding a book in his hands. Elisha, kneeling, awaits the saint's mantle.
