The icon depicts Archangel Michael in a frontal position. Depicted standing, he wears the costume of a Roman soldier: green tunic, silver breastplate, and over his shoulders, a red cloak. With his right hand, he holds the raised sword, and with his left, he supports the globe of power, on which the inscription "Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord Sabaoth!" is preserved, written in white. His white wings have feathers rendered in shades of gray. The features of the face are conveyed by the anonymous painter through a nuanced range of ochres.
