At the beginning and the end of the sketchbook there are several handwritten texts drafted in pencil (aphorisms, thoughts, poems) by the artist. On the first blank page, in the bottom right corner, his signature can be seen, written in blue ink. Many of the notebook's pages hold sketches, drawings, rough drafts of portraits and caricatures, all made in charcoal. The spine is damaged.
