It is considered that the beginning of the monetary emissions of Wallachia took place during the reign of Vladislav I. Perhaps Ludovic's siege of Vidin, as well as the overburdening of money circulation from the southern part of the Balkans into the country, determined the monarch to coin his own currency. As a typology, this coin is known by Romanian Numismatics under the name of Wallachian Ducat, corresponding to the system of Dinars coined by the neighbouring Kingdom Hungarian. These Dinars have an average weight of 0.7 grams. Regarding the engravery itself (obverse - reverse), the coin corresponds to the common Wallachian Ducat typology, encountered in all the emissions under Wallachian monarchs, starting from Vlaicu I (1364 - 1377) to Basarab (the Elder) Laiotă (1473 - 1477, with several interruptions)
