The two volumes, published in Paris in "L'Illustration" magazine commemorating the events of the Great War, in addition to the rich information transposed in the 1303 pages, include a lithographs and coloured illustrations of the great commanders of the conflict, such as General Joffre, Gallieni or Bliss. The book binding craftsmanship is also reflected in the leather covers or the gilded decorations on the shelf-back.
