Celebrating 40 years in the service of Romanian metallurgy, at a reception held on July 1, 1942, Constantin Orghidan, Romanian engineer, collector, vice-president of the Romanian Numismatic Society and honorary member of the Romanian Academy, gave a speech marking 43 years of work for the development of Romanian industry. The obverse of the medal features his bust, facing right, surrounded by his name, and the signature of the engraver Anghel Vasile, while the reverse features a scene of three workers in a factory, centrally located, and the inscription "40 years in the service of national metallurgy • 1942 • ".
