Made in 1925 by the engraver Constantin Kristescu, on the occasion of the general exhibition in Chisinau, the medal displays on the obverse the side-by-side busts facing left of Ferdinand and Maria, the sovereigns of Greater Romania. The reverse depicts a personification of Romania with a national flag, next to its daughter, Bessarabia, in a chest hug, while in the second plane we can see the Dniester fortresses and the image of a soldier symbolizing the constant defence of the boundaries. Take Ionescu was the initiator of the first general exhibition, in Bucharest, who proposed and obtained a date of its organisation on the jubilee of 40 years of the reign of King Carol I, in 1906.
