The Association of Veterinarians in Romania was established on June 29, 1914 and recognized by Royal Decree by King Ferdinand I in 1919, part of the Veterinary Medical Association established in 1871. The foundation stone of the association's premise was laid in 1929. A plaque was minted at the one-decade anniversary of this event, engraved by Gheorghe Stănescu, head of the Medalist Section of the National Mint since 1937.
