Beyond their professional collaboration, Andy Warhol and Victor Hugo shared a close friendship and an intense social life. The two were constant presences at the legendary parties of Studio 54, the epicenter of New York's high society. There, Victor Hugo often became the life of the evening - he danced, provoked, costumed, spontaneously burst into performance and turned his appearances into true artistic moments. With a theatrical personality and an extravagant style, Hugo defined the decadent and creative atmosphere of the club. Warhol documented these scenes through unpretentious snapshots, taken with direct flash, giving the images a raw and authentic aspect.
