Obverse: "IMP P LIC VALERIANO AVG" Reverse: "PROVINCIA DACIA / AN III" On its obverse, the coin presents the bust of Emperor Valerian I, wearing a laurel wreath, oriented towards right, surrounded by the Latin abbreviation of the phrase "Imperator Caesar Publius Licinius Valeriano Augustus", while its reverse contains the personified representation of Dacia, oriented towards left, holding an olive branch and a sceptre in each hand, together with, on one side, an eagle and a lion, the exergue inscription "PROVINCIA DACIA" and the formula "AN VIII", the 8th year of the Emperor's reign.
